As part of Google’s User Experience Designer Certification course, I developed a responsive web design for a conceptual Japanese restaurant. The goal when designing the website was to address common problems that users have with using restaurant websites and apps that were discovered during an earlier phase of user research.
Common complaints included lack of features and incentives. Features such as the ability to make online reservations, track carry out orders, and view special deals were important in the design of this site to fully enable users to be able to enjoy dining out in a variety of scenarios. After conducting a final round of usability studies with the hi-fidelity prototypes, users shared overall positive feedback regarding the updates that were made to the overall site.
During the course of this project, I learned how to translate insights from feedback into responsive designs that addressed the needs of users, regardless of screen variation.
